Book Review: City of Ashes by: Cassandra Clare

How is everyone!!! It has been a while since i’ve posted anything. To be honest the thing i post the most on this blog is book reviews, but i read so many books that i kind of have too. As you can see from the title i am writting a review of City of Ashes by: Cassandra Clare. But first you know the drill…

This was definitely a worthy sequel to City of Bones, there were some slow parts but WAY more interesting parts that caused me to lose quite a few hours of sleep.

First, I may be the only one but this book and City of Bones for some reason reminded me of starwars. In city of bones i’ve decided the Valentine is Darth Vader, Jace is Luke, and Clary is Leia. If you didn’t know (Which would be really surprising) Luke meets leia by rescuing her, then later on they “have a moment”. Then Luke finds out darth Vader is his father. THEN Luke finds out Leia is his sister…. Can you see the similarities? Also, there was a scene where Jace had to face “Valentine” and ended up killing him… sounds very similar to a scene in The Empire Strickes Back that Luke end sup facing “Darth Vader” and killing him and it ends up not being him. This is just something that i’ve really been  If i ever get to meet Cassandra (Hopefully for Lady Midnight) I will ask her if she did it on purpose or if it was completely random.

Now let’s get into something/someone we are all confused about now…. SIMON. I get that cassandra just wanted a character to be different but WHY BEAT UP ON HIM SO MUCH!!! First he gets turned into a rat, then he is DEAD, the he is UNDEAD, then he is DEAD AGAIN, oh wait he isn’t dead, OH NO THE SUN, wait WTF he is alive. I’m keeping track of how many times something happens to him and i’ll let you know when i finish all of the books.

I really have no complaints about the plot, it fit right in to the story that was already given and really felt like it continued the series (Like a sequel should). The only thing about it is the drama between Clary and Jace. I know that they were in love and stuff but they don’t need to complain every two seconds about it. I’m just so done about it.

Finally there is one thing that kills me….. MALEC!!!!! I’m really happy that Magnus is such an important character in this series and Malec is probably by far my favorite ship ever!!!! Do you guys agree?

Well this was a pretty crappy review but i tried!!

Book tour #1 Dust and Water by: Cassandra Webb

As you can see by the title i was given the opportunity to post some stuff about the recently released book Dust and Water by: Cassandra Webb.

Part 1: Summary

Summary from Goodreads:

Dust and Water is a Song For The Stained novella. Hunter is living a hard life, as an orphan working for his unappreciative uncle he gets little respect. One day he see’s a girl (Kemla) take a risk and ask a farming family a favor. He decides to try the same at the next house and winds up sleeping in their barn, eating good whole meals, working for his keep, saving them from bandits, helping Kemla with her slave trader problem though she’ll never know it, and earning respect.
But will taking a risk be enough to change his life?
The Song For The Stained series are short reads, averaging 10,000 words, which spin off from the Kemla Saga but are perfectly readable as individual books. They’re clean reads, with no sex, no swearing, and little violence with the main character trying to avoid violence and find other solutions. They are also diverse reads, aiming to have a variety of characters in each book.

 Part 2: About the Author

Cassandra Webb is a chocaholic writer from the small coastal village of Narooma, Australia. Writer of children’s and young adult fiction, fantasy and picture books. Cassandra also enjoys writing creative non-fiction. She grew up in rural and remote Australia and remembers riding horses, working with helicopters and being homeschooled. Now on the coast with her three children she enjoys the beaches
in summer and the nearby snowy mountains in winter.

Hi guys, to keep up the week of posting streak i tried to find a great post idea!! So as you can see i’m doing a list of books i’m looking forward to in 2016!! Let’s start!! (FYI this is not going in order of how excited i am, it is just in order of release date)

  • Glass sword by: Victoria Aveyard ( i know it already came out)
  • Lady midnight by: Cassandra Clare
  • A Court of Mist and Fury by: Sarah J. Maas
  • The Last Star by: Rick Yancey
  • Throne of Glass #5 (TBN) by: Sarah J. Maas
  • The Hammer of Thor by: Rick Riordan

Ok earlier i lied about that these were going to be in order of release date, those were but this last one i’m just so excited for that i had to put it last. Finally the last book i’m excited for in 2016 is (Drum Roll) HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD!!!!! I’m a little bummed that this isn’t a novel but any Harry Potter book makes me happy!!!!!!

These are really the books i’m most excited for but there are so many more that i’m planning to get!!! There was also Stars Above by: Marissa Meyer but that came out a week ago. i know this post is short but i really wanted to post something today. Thank you so much for reading!!!

Book Review: Stars Above by: Marissa Meyer

I am really trying to keep up this span of posting so im going to make a post for every day for a week!! So today i am going to do a review for the most recent and final book in the Lunar Chronicles, Stars Above!

I remember when Cinder came out, i was in 6th grade and i finished it on a school trip. It is amazing to see how far this has come. I was so hapy and sad to see this series come to an end. Throughout the series there were some things that were left unexplained, this collection really explained most of those things.

The Keeper

What to say about this… it really blew my mind. Leaarning more about how Michelle came to be the keeper of Cinder was amazing. When Scarlet came out there was always the curiosity about how this came to be. Also learning about why Scarlet’s dad didn’t have a father was really cool! I love how she had an affair with a lunar and then she got pregnant? Then we find more about how Lihn Garan came to adopt Cinder!! I just thought that this would help me connect more things when i reread Cinder!

I didn’t really like this as much as The Keeper but it wasn’t terrible. It did show a little of Cinder’s early days with them. I personaly just didn’t like it. Nothing more to say, Nothing less.

The Queen’s Army

This one was quite short but it really shows more about the very mysterious character. It also showed how terrible the mutant soldiers lives were, having to fight each other, killing, it just wasn’t human. It was a good story, I have to say!!!!

Carswell’s Guide to being lucky

I really hated this one, it just showed that Thorne has been a sort of ASS since the beinging. I love him, even if he is an ASS. This really didn’t catch me like i had hoped.

After sunshine passes by

Ah cress, i really love her character! But this story really wasn’t anything new. It was just a retelling of what we already know! It was very well written and i love Cress. But i wish there could have been knew stuff.

The Little Android

I really loved this little story about star, but i feel like it was very random and didn’t completely fit into the story. If you guys didn’t notice this, the fairy tale it is based on has to be The Little Mermaid!! When i first started it i thought that it was supposed to be about iko but it turns out it was a completely different story. 10/10 would read again!!!

The Mechanic

OMG OMG OMG THE FEELS AHHHHH, i loved to hear about Kai and that even before he knew anything about Cinder he liked her!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHIPS EVER WAS MEANT TO BE AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Something old, Somthing new

I WAS SO DONE WHEN IT STARTED!! It was jsut so cute how Scarlet and Wolf love eachother so much and how much Cinder and Kai love eachother so much and THE FEELS and THE SHIPS. When Kai went outside to look at the stars i knew what was coming and DIED. I knew that Kai and Cinder were going to get married i wish and HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE that Marissa Mayer will make a wedding for them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?????!??!?

Well that was a whole lot of feels…. This is really what i felt throughout my entire time reading it. Now if you need me i’ll be in bed crying because it is over. But in the end.. I shouldn’t cry because it is over.. i need to smile because it happened. Did you guys read this? If you guys haven’t read this series i seriously suggest it!! if you want to get this book click this link:

Interview: Michael Weekly

Hi everyone! A while back you may have remembered that i had a cover reveal for a new book called Mystical. Well i had the honor to interview the author of Mystical Michael Weekly!! Here are the questions!

1. What are your ambitions for your writing career?

I really want to be able to write full time, I think all authors would like to just write anything and sell a million copies like J.K Rowling! C’mon now it’s the dream! #WritingGoals haha, but really, I would think it’d be a wonderful opportunity to expand my career if I was at that level. I’m still a new author, and I’m learning along the way, I’m young and have all the time in the world to get to the dream I’m chasing.

2. Why do you write?

I write because I want to do many things I know I can’t do in real life, I want to be things I know I can’t be, it’s like catfishing on a whole different level, creatively. I can be all of my characters and not be judged, I think it’s amazing! I get to live in another world, and escape from the one I’m living now, it’s pretty awesome.

3. When did you decide you wanted to be an author?

It was never a goal of mine, it just sort of happened. I had a moment where I would always go to the library and read, read, read so many books. I think that was the time when I felt so inspired to, well,  create my own book and that’s when I decided to be an author.

4. Do you write full-time or part-time?

Part -time

5. Have any author’s inspired you?

Most definitely, my top three picks would be Richelle Mead, Carrie Jones and Stephanie Meyer!

6. If Mystical was ever made into a movie which actress would you imagine for Eliza?

This is such a hard question all my friends ask me, if I had to pick ANYONE to play Eliza, I would honestly love….you guys are seriously going to think I’m ripping off The Mortal Instruments, but really…Lily Collins fits ELIZA SOOOO freaking well. I can’t stress this enough lol.

7. What do you do when you have writer’s block?

I sit in my closet, listen to music, and force myself to daydream.

8. Do you have a favorite author?

Stephanie Meyers!

9. Do you have a favorite book?

Twilight, just the first book.

10. What inspired you to write Mystical?

Tinashe the music artist, I was listening to her song, “Come When I Call” and the entire story line just came to me.

Once again thank you to Michael Weekly for doing this interview with me! I was also given the chance to read his book in exchange of a honest review so when i finish it expect a review here, goodreads, and Amazon! If you want to buy mystical you can get it on Amazon here!

Book Review: The perks of being a wallflower by: Stephen Chbosky

How are you doing today! Today as you can see from the title, i am doing a review of The perks of being a wallflower by: Stephen Chbosky.

This book fucking killed me because everything that happens to Charlie happens in ordinary teenage life. It went from smoking to pregnancy to rape to drugs it just covered everything in a meaningful way, it was so powerful.

To be honest i have so many things to say about this book but have no clue how to put them into words.

But i just wanted to say that this is an amazing book, it really is. I just hope that if you ever read this you think about how all of these thing do happen in life. This book may be a bit old but people act this way to each other.

I am so sorry that this review was so bad i just don’t really know how to put my feelings for this book into words. It is just that good. Hope you have an amazing day.
