Book Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

OMG three posts in a row! How is that even possible! But as you can tell my the title I am finally doing my review of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! Its a longer review but I had a lot to say about this amazing book! So here it is!

spoilers

I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THIS BOOK COULD HAVE BEEN THIS GOOD! I WAS BLOWN AWAY! With the combination of it being a retelling of Beauty and the beast (Which is my FAVORITE Disney movie) and have an amazing love interest my lonely teenage heart couldn’t take it. But let’s start with the obvious, Feyre.

When I first started reading this book I didn’t think Feyre would be a character I love but I was proven wrong. She had the ushual bad backstory with her bad sitiuation and iffy family but that didn’t stop her from making the best of her situation. I even agree with her choice to kill Andres at the beginning when she had been fed lies that all faeries were cruel and deserved to be dead. Then there is TAMLIN.

I don’t know if it was just me but I really liked Tamlin from the moment he sat down at the dinner table. I kinda knew he was a good guy (and the him and Feyre would fall in love). I just didn’t think it would take that long for them to geet together cause I could feel the tension between them from the beginning. After finishing it I realized it was because Tamlin really wanted Feyre to fall in love with him to break the curse. WHICH is what I want to get to next.

THE CURSE, THE ENDING, EVERYTHING! I personally did not see the ending coming, once i got more than half way through I didn’t think they could fit in a decent ending like Sarah did. I admit it was a bit rushed and wish there was more time for everything to happen but it did keep me on the edge of my seat for all 150 pages. Maybe next time Sarah will make those three trials into a whole book, I beleive she could do it and make it interesting.

All in all I really really liked this book, I hope the sequel is just as good! I can’t wait to jump right back into this world and fall farther into the pit that I’m already tumbling down. Let me know what you guys thought of it and if you agree/disagree with anything I said!

Thats it! I hope you liked this review be sure to check out some of my other ones and my other posts! Also, be sure to check out my Instagram @Bloggingbooknerd if you have the chance! I hope that your April is going great so far!
